PERSONALITY
Emotional Peri was never really taught emotional regulation while she was growing up. She was encouraged to always feel her feelings, even if that sometimes meant tantruming. She still expects people to accomodate her dramatic and shifting moods, and is not very good at all at pretending to be something she isn’t. At Hogwarts she had a reputation for fleeing the Great Hall or class in tears at the slightest provocation.
Selfish Suffers from EXTREME only child syndrome. She never had to compromise for anything when she was growing up, and having four roommates was a big culture shock for her. The concept that she is not the center of universe has been explained to her, but she's never really processed it.
Suggestible Whether or not something feels true is a lot more important to Peridot than whether it's demonstrably true. She's lucky MLM schemes haven't hit the wizarding world, because she's a prime target for exploitation. As it is, she gets away with having a handful of goofy unscientific (or magical equivalent) opinions about the world that cause people to laugh behind her back and not a lot more than that. She also thinks she's psychic.
"Creative" Peridot has a unique way of looking at the world, and it’s not always what one might describe as being “factually correct”. She has a proclivity for hyperbole and spinning tall tales, and everyone who’s ever met her knows that they should take what she says with a grain of salt. That being said her manipulations and ministrations are not usually malicious in nature. She just has a compulsive need to spice everything up a little bit, so it makes a good story.

After the war, Lavender & Parvati declined to return to Hogwarts and instead moved to London, where they struggled to make a living for a few years. They made most of their money reading fortunes for muggles, but struggled to pay their bills because of the costly potions required to keep Lavender's werewolf transformations safe. Their fortunes turned when they befriended another young werewolf, Chiara Lobosca, who was working on inventing an improved Wolfsbane potion. Although she had the brilliance and skill in potions, Parvati and Lavender had their influential connections in ex DA/OOTP members, and were able to help her get it approved for clinical use.
Being in business with Chiara was ultimately a boon to them, and they used the money they made and favors owed from her potioneering business to open a business of their own - a tea shop on Diagon Alley. Now settled into their lives and feeling like real adults, they decided they were ready to expand their family. Peridot came to them through a closed adoption - she has no idea who her birth parents are or why they gave her up, but has never been particularly interested in finding out.
Peri's early life was easy; growing up right on Diagon meant that she was allowed to run free most of the time, and she made a habit of charming local shop-keepers. There was always a sugary treat or shiny bauble waiting for her, and there were always other children to play with. In many ways it was the quintessential idyllic childhood for a London witch, small hiccups like having a werewolf for a mother notwithstanding.
Leaving for Hogwarts was an exciting adventure for her. While her mothers were a little disappointed she ended up in Slytherin, she enjoyed the companionship she found there - it was easy for her to match wits with the other mean girls on social level, if not an academic one. Peri spent her school days needlessly hassling unpopular students and enjoying the attentions of her circle of understrappers. She also served as the president of the choir club for her last two years at school, a position she strong armed her way into by making sure none of her other friends put their names forward.
Schoolwork, however, did not come naturally to her, and she failed to thrive academically. After scraping up a collection of lackluster OWL grades, she continued in only three NEWT level classes: Astronomy, Divination, and Muggle Studies. To her credit, she did pass all these NEWT exams with flying colors, but it could not be argued in good faith that she had anything in the way of "career prospects".
This did not trouble her, however, as it has always been her life goal to be a big star. She wants to make her career in music, but has managed to land roles in a few community theater productions and would of course accept being a famous actress as a backup career. But besides a few roles and gigs here and there, her celebrity career has also not been promising, and in recent days she's fallen back on working for her moms and family friends to pay her wages. Of course being invited to move into a building is exciting news for someone with a Wizard Credit Score of [VARIOUS WINGDINGS], and she did not even consider refusing the invitation.

🍵 The tea room menu comprises of Parvati and Lavender's favorite things, a method of inventory selection that offers almost no cohesion. Bubble tea is served right alongside meticulously prepared brewed tea, and French macarons of various colors and confections are flanked by gulab jamun and pumpkin pasties. That being said, their ever-rotating menu and ability to key on trend foods before they generally hit Diagon Alley makes the shop a popular youth hangout.
🍵 The front of the store is always wreathed in dozens of flowers, potted succulents, and floral arrangements, all of which can be purchased at a reasonable fee. Peridot has never been entirely clear on where all the flowers come from. There just seem to be more and more every day.
🍵 If you know who to ask, you may be spirited away to one of the many sitting rooms to receive your fortune told in your tea leaves, or read in tarot cards, or perhaps to have your star-chart drawn up.
🍵 Naturally, this lends itself to matchmaking and general life-coaching, an endeavor largely helmed by Parvati (although Lavender and Peridot are happy to chime in with their opinions if they're around).
